Why I am liking AoS

They're not so bad if used appropriately.

But when they're just bandied around willy-nilly, all they achieve is to clarify the speaker/author is talking a load of old bollocks.

And it's worse when their audience, out of fear they may be missing something and it actually did all make sense, simply nod and agree and congratulate the outside of the box bluesky, big ask, thinking...

I'm with you Xeno I'm loving the accessibility of the game. It's been a breath of fresh air. Not only in comparison with GWs offerings but with most of the stuff out there. With the exception of Saga pretty much everything has become so rules heavy it's become about manipulating those rules or in many cases an Army building exercise.

I do really like the idea of the lighter rules overall... 40k is a bloated mess, but these are still just a little too light for my taste. So at the moment I'm still in a state of pure ambivalence. There are a few models that I will eventually pick up for hobby's sake though... like Archaon. That model is a gorgeous plastic kit.
