I guess the lack of imagination the fans have goes well with the lack of imagination that most wargame settings have though. I completely agree with all of that though. I feel like a pariah in the wargaming world most days (and not the cool necron kind)

Apologies if this comes across as a little preachy, but don't forget GW are listening to us these days.

I've already asked about lady Bloodbowl players on their FB page, and was told they'd pass it on as a request (they mentioned in their experience the ladies are even deadlier).

It's absolutely disappointing it's something we need to request, but request we have to. FB is the most accessible way, but there's still email and letter writing Get hassling them, and see what happens. Possibly, perhaps probably nowt, but we never know. Especially not these days.

The way I understand it there are actually quite a lot of female figures coming for all games. Not going to extrapolate on that as I'll get shouted at.

    Intriguing!

Don't suppose you've got a source for that? (Asking, not challenging )

Why would you get shouted at? The problem is a lack of female models, if you have news that we are getting more that is good not shout-worthy.
Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!

Call it the inevitable conclusion of the rising level of expertise GW in their newish CAD based sculpting system which their studio has been reorganised around.

Essentially lithe 'feminine' sculpts are more difficult to do then masculine brutes in power armour. GW have got to the stage where they can produce this type of sculpt, they proved it with the Harlequins. However since those releases they've had to concentrate on getting the fundamentals done for AoS (And now it also seems for a few Specialist Games also.) But now AoS has almost caught up in it's basic releases and is beginning to release it's own more grace filled sculpts which where designed around the same time as the Quins you can expect to see the style of that initial wave of Elf based sculpts proliferate across the other factions as the sculptors responsible for them move on to other projects.

There's a very definite learning curve in producing the plastic mini's that GW has been going through since failcast. That learning curve has only just reached a point where GW feel comfortable tackling the inevitable criticism they will face when releasing female type sculpts that still fit into the over emphasized heroic scale of their mini's. GW don't take controversy and criticism well, they'd rather pull something from the public domain than face the storm of a negative press story. They still remember the days Mary Whitehouse tried to get roleplaying and wargamming banned because it was a 'moral corruption' and 'satanic.'. All the delays in female type sculpts have really been about getting them right so that when they do start releasing them regularly, everyone just shuts the **** up.

I don't know, they did excellent male/female kits with the Dark Eldar in 2011, the idea that five years later they think its better to pretend women don't exist than actually release models is ridiculous but sadly exactly what I'd expect from them at this point.

Also the concept that feminine = lithe, small & delicate that seems to be ingrained in mini designers heads is pretty rubbish too.
