Default Thousand Sons Manufactorium

    G'day everyone! I'll be using this thread to display my Thousand Sons (both pre- and post-Heresy) projects in various stages of completion! There will also be the occasional cameo from other Chapters/Legions when the mood strikes. XD

    So to start off with, just to give a demonstration of the stuff I can do, here are some of my finished models done over the past few years. Clicking the pics will take you to my relevant Facebook albums with more shots of each model, so I'm not flooding this post with too many images at once.

    Niu, a Thousand Sons Forgeworld Dreadnaught. The scarabs/chain/tabard was some of my first attempts at customisations with greenstuff. One of my earliest models, but still one of my favourites.

    A squad of Thousand Sons terminators, heavily customised from a base Chaos Terminators box. Pauldrons were scratch-built from plasticard and greenstuff, helmets and armour were modified with the same, bases and tabards made from greenstuff. These guys were my first attempt at such extensive modifications.

    For something a little different, a Dark Angels chaplain from the Dark Vengeance set that I painted for a friend...

    ... and the Chaos Lord said friend gave me in return. XD

    Niu again, from before he got stuck in a chunky old boxnaught and was stomping around as a happy little Contemptor before the Heresy (including WIP):

    Jahi, one of my Deathwatch characters:

    For something a little more recent; my Chapter Master, Akil Amari, and a WiP shot to show the modifications.

    Finally, the poor 2012 Games Day exclusive that I only just got around to painting a few months ago... XD My first go at Non-Metallic Metal, too!

    I hope you all like these! In my next post, I'll show some of the projects I'm currently working on, in all their WIP haphazardness. Please feel free to comment - feedback is very much appreciated! :D

    @Kirsten: Thank you!

    So here's one of my projects that I started sometime last year - I wanted to try true-scaling some marines to use as a veteran squad or librarian conclave or squad sergeants. They're extended at the shin, thigh, and waist to make them a little taller, and they all have customised helmets, melee weapons and a book chained to their belts.

    That bloody mace has sixty individual fething feathers cut out of plasticard and glued on. SIXTY of the damn things. Aaaaaaagh.

    And then of course, soon after I'd done most of the work on these guys... Forgeworld released the Thousand Sons bits. XD OH WELL I like my stuff better anyway. One day I'll actually get around to painting all of these guys. One day...

    Let me know what you think!

    Another project I started sometime last year was modifying a Storm Talon to look slightly more aerodynamic and less like a space potato. XD The nose turret still rotates a full 360 degrees, the cockpit has been hinged, and I made the tail landing gear able to slide in/out (then found out that the mods I'd done to the turret meant it didn't have to slide out any more anyway, OOPS).

    I haven't quite finished painting it yet, but it's getting there. Click on the images to go through the full album on Facebook!

    And then a few months after I'd originally posted the WiP shots on Facebook, GW released the Stormhawk Interceptor, and I went hmmm... the resemblence is almost uncanny. XD

    @insaniak: Thank you!

    So I recently finished painting the Imperial Space Marine... and realised I'd completely forgotten to take WIP shots of him the entire time, oops. I'll get some proper photos of him soon, but in the meantime, here's some WIPs shots of the Tartaros Legion Praetor!

    @Kirsten, @theHman: Thank you very much! Converting can sometimes be really frustrating, so it's great to know that it's worth the effort!

    Just a little update atm, WoW:Legion has been eating into my free time lately oops. ¬_¬

    Experimenting with undercoating the gold areas with Warplock Bronze first. I'm probably going to try for a TMM effect, we'll see how it goes!

    That's some quality work. Loving the conversions.

    However the process of robo-insemination is far too complex for the human mind!
