(let's see if I can do this without the computer crashing like it did last time I tried to post this!)

I worked in a comic book store for a few years and attended a few trade shows where the subject of a "customer visible" computer came up. The owner would want the customer to see the screen for 2 reasons:
    1) an employee can easily show (without inviting the customer behind the counter) products that are available or coming soon to help with getting the customer what they want.
    2) the idea that a customer can see what the employee is doing is supposed to prevent the employee from visiting any "non-professional" site (i.e. PORN) while on the job.

Who would work on an image-maybe he just opened it and got called to help someone and forgot to minimize it.

Why send an image-it's cheaper for corporate to make the stores print their own posters (it would be from the local budget) than ship posters (and easier to custumize)

Now here's a side idea: maybe multiple product posters were sent, and "Space Hulk" is a fake among many product fakes and they won't review the real one until GD but all fake and real posters have to be ready the minute the announcement is made.

Who cares? I'm past the point of caring anymore.
To a New Yorker like you a hero is some kinda weird sandwich, not some nut who takes on three Tigers!

The exact same thing occurred to me, chances are if GW employees don't know then perhaps they're excercising prudence and creating several prior to announcement rather than doing it the night before, or they're producing several to allay suspicion.

I mentioned it here because it seemed to fit with the trend, but there's a million explanations!

Myself and the missus for one; she doesn't want to collect a full army of Tyranids but wants to play with me. My SMs are fluff-wise Space Hulk specialists. This game would make our day, cheaply. In fact there's a fair few people who care a little I'm sure. Maybe only a little bit, but care all the same.

As like most people I stand little or no chance of getting one I gave up caring when the 10,000 figure came to light

they Croydon store had 0 pre-orders when i asked today, manager expected to get 50 or so allocated to his store, i think they are being distributed direct from mail order so perhaps a direct only thing also. if you go to your local store this weekend and hand over £60 im sure that you will get one.

Either way, the nearest GW store to me is about 4 hours away in Atlanta. I have no care to drive in Atlanta traffic for any reason. If you can get it off the web-site, then I will. If not.....

    Hmm well I think it is worth bearing the following in mind;

Nearly every UK GW Store I have been in has a customer facing PC - it's generally the instore order point for GW Direct BUT it's got other stuff on as well because it's basically a PC with itnernet on it and all the stuff hidden away from customers.

From talking to the manager at the store I went to, I honestly believe that any GW UK store taking deposits is doing so off their own back, so to speak, and this is not reflective of any actual official campaign - the guy I spoke to today told me of his own will that they get their store "mystery box" Tuesday, as it would be posted out Monday, and this confirms what others have said here on the forums.

I know how this sounds, another GW manager is an old colleague and we've shared a fair few secrets at our place of work, he says he doesn't know for definite, he thinks Space Hulk, but until it comes or the announcement is made, it's a best guess.

I don't believe this rubbish about "every store gets 5" and "no preorders" - maybe something like a GW UK Gamesday exclusive edition then a standard edition - but I fear even this would rightly provoke the anger of non UK GW fans as, good as it is, its just not worth flying to the UK for Gamesday unless you're rich!

Don't get mad at me for pointing out how silly the idea of poster that says "Congratulations, you guessed correctly; the mystery box is "Space Hulk"" is.

Think about it. Would anyone earning a salary not be fired for producing advertising that lame? But like I said you could be right. The mystery box could even be 40k cereal.

Maybe he was making the poster to be inside the box, so when you opened it you knew exactly what it was.
