    Default drake's black templar

so I have recently been bitten by the 40k bug again, this time with Black Templar. The fluff for my Templar is that they were involved in the Declates crusade, where they took heavy casualties and are now returning to one of their fortresses to replaces the loses they took. The fortress they have returned to is occupied, so the templar have to kick them out! What that means is that I was using the GW article on painting BT iconography to add some character to my marines. also it means that for bases, I am making mosaic tiled bases which has been fun and something new to do.

So this was my first marshall i painted, but he is actually on the selling block right now because I changed my mind about the fluff after I painted him.

There here is my Emperor's Champion (i need to take real pictures of him) with and without base:

Anyways, I have almost finished a chaplain (hes actually a legion of the damned marine, but just works and a chaplain). I have also built and painted a new marshall that i need to photograph.

    comments and critiques welcome

Looks like you are off to a good start. I've always been a fan of deep shading and deep reds.

Those bases do seems to be incredibly time consuming, but a nice touch like that certainly does give them more character.

That is how I imagine a Black Templar Champ to look, charging head first into combat. Your posing is great giving your models a really dynamic feel.
