    Default Biledrake

Hey guys thought I'd share a couple of shots of the heldrake I'm working on.

I wanted it to tie in with my converted blight drones hense the use of a carnifex for the body.

went for a really bizarre, daemonic look, the neck and tail will be done up as mechanical spinal columns with piping and additional fixtures feeding the flamer in the head. (probably 2 on each side.)

the vents on the back will be removed and replaced with a series of smoke stacks.

the legs are to give it a really creepy daemonic look and will be sticking out from exposed innards.

Fantastic concept. I can really see this looking better than the official model. You've obviously got a great start on the basic shape and form of the model, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how you go on with this conversion.

    Cheers guys much appreciated.

so heres a bit of progress so far, starting to add the more mechanical pieces and then the next step will be the liberal merging of the mechanical and organic to give a living engine look.

You'll notice I dropped the spindly bug legs from the underside I just couldn't get them to work with the rest of the model in my opinion and I have decided to replace them with metal paning and plating instead. the banding will next have rivets added as fixtures and detailing such as a chaos star or blood angel icon on the underside. as well as hanging bells chains and skulls to tie it in with my over daemon engines.

the banding on the wings will be also riveted but greenstuff will be used to give the impression that it is sunk into the skin of the beast. I am considering adding some plates over sections of the wing membrane but I am not sure about that yet.

The open gut section is going to have mechanical pieces added added similar to what has been started on the wing joints. the mechanical structure of the wing joints will be elaborated as well.

finally you can see the fixtures for the piping in the neck, spines and ragged flesh will be added hanging form the neck in order to bulk it out a little bit.

the tail will have the vertebrae structure continued down it getting thinner at points and finish in a flail.
