What do you think? MERCS expansion thread

I personally love the mechanics and fast-paced gameplay of the MERCS franchise. I played one demo and I was immediately hooked. I haven't really read up on the lore beyond the factions but it seems to me the world is ripe for expansion from the skirmish gameplay to the full scale wargame play.

Personally, I love MERCS miniatures even more than Citadel and Privateer Press miniatures because they really represent the science fiction gist that I'm so fond of. What I'm looking for though is an expansion into full blown war, with faction-styled tanks, planes, copters, different squad make-ups, and maybe even a commanding unit to lead the battles.

What do you think, fellow MERCS players out there?
