This. Everyone else I know hated it, but I really enjoyed it for exactly these reasons.

As for 3, I'm getting excited now. Good to see my beloved Morrigan back again.

Also pretty much all the issues with DA2 can be traced back to the fact it was incredibly rushed development, it had around two years compared to DA:O having four. Really I'm amazed it was as good as it was.

Ask not the EldarGal a question, for she will give you three answers, all of which are puns and terrifying to know. Back off man, I'm a feminist. Ia! Ia! Gloppal Snode!

I would have been more amazed if they had kept a lot of what makes the first one so good. It is not just about being rushed, some of their decisions just didn't work. I doubt the combat would have been much different had they spent four years on it. But I found pressing a button and having my character leaping and flipping all over the place incredibly jarring.

Didn't touch the 2nd. Short of amazing across the board reviews, a complete overhaul of system and a good demo I won't bother with this either
Ditto, tried the first one. Thought hmm baldurs gate for the 999th time is better and didn't resume. Didn't see the hype, don't like EA, conclusion reached.

Well a lot of that was rushing, bar combat. Thee were supposed to be more areas, more quests, more depth and breadth in general but it was cut down to the bare basics to get it out early apparently.

They did remedy the combat system somewhat in the DLC, some of the fights were fantastic with less silly leaping about (which was silly).

yeah, I played the initial intro and was a bit annoyed by all the leaping about, then when it starts over to be more truthful I thought aah good, all the silliness was just story embellishing and combat will be more realistic. oh, I am still leaping about...

Finally got to see the trailer, excited as always. The next generation will be awesome.

As far as Dragon Age 2 is concerned, I think it was a lot better than it is given credit for.

It's ftw. Trying to resist starting a new campaign myself, I'm already distracted enough from my FalloutNV campaign with Sins of a Solar Empire and a new Skyrim playthrough.

I am playing Origins again, for about the fourth time now. Tempted to get Skyrim on PC. Sins of a Solar Empire does look cool.
I was very confused playing the dlc for Origins because other dlc equipment didn't port over. so going to our new grey warden castle in the intro my character was in her underwear in a thunderstorm looking serious, nodding thoughtfully, and slaying dark spawn.
