Vulcan and master artisans

It seems weird but I see no rule to prevent you from upgrading vulcans heavy flamer or I suppose his bolt pistol to master crafted. Am I missing something?

no need to with his flamer as its rerolling anyway from chapter tactics.. and you will never use is pistol tbh so really it doesn't matter.... the bigger question is do the bolter component of a combi-melta get the master crafted rule too or just the melta component??

A combimelta is a single weapon and is mastercrafted so that means the whole weapon not just one of the firing modes. For example a mastercrafted missile launcher would get a reroll if it fired Frag or Krak.
