I would say it's depends on how much you currently reference the codex. I'm still new and constantly looking things up. I bought the iBook version for my iPad and it works great. It's basically a port of the hardcopy (which I also have) and well done. Other than one hotlink that isn't working (and I assume will be patched), I have no complaints. Navigation is quick by going thru the chapter thumbnails at the bottom of the screen and there's links where you can jump from the unit description straight to it's army list entry.
If you want an e-version of the codex (for whatever specific reason) it's worth it IMO. If you're looking for something new, then no.
