But a new model wouldn't have the old boot knives; ;
Little copypasting game using both images, the one from this:
And the one from Dakka Dakka:
And the result is, approximately, this (done by me, Wolfen from Laurana´s Tavern):

But for sure tomorrow we will see the full image properly!

Lord Macragge and wielder of the Ultramar´s Gauntlets
Really?
Because it's just about the oldest model still in production (or at the very least in a pretty small group at the top of that list) and unlike some others, has aged pretty terribly.
Put together with the fact that Ragnar's company is the one GW have for years used to represent the Wolves, then yeah, I don't think absurd is too strong. Should really have been updated in the 5th ed release, never mind now.
Yet design classic remains a design classic.
Casting my mind back to 2nd Ed, when we really started to get Special Characters (though Space Woofs date from the very, very tail end (pun!) of Rogue Trader) the only ones to have been updated are...erm.....Yarrick, Ghaz, arguably Tycho*, and I think that's it, unless you count Njal's Terminator Armour model (and you'd then have to count Calgar's Terminator model too).
Ghaz? Ork species resized, so the old model would have look completely daft. And you can't do him without doing Yarrick, probably.
Tycho? Originally used an old, old model which was eventually renamed from Blood Angel Captain - so arguable as strictly speaking only one model has been sculpted to specifically represent Tycho.
I don't think I've missed anyone else from that era?
