"It doesn't matter what your stats are. There hasn't been an Alchemical Revolution in this world. Potions aren't a thing. You can't just have a sales executive brew one."

"Yeah but, if I were trying to make a stew, and—"

"Ugh, whatever. Fine, you brew the potion. It doesn't work."

"I don't have to roll. This is Dayjobs & Drudgery, potions don't work. The herbs aren't magical."

"What do you mean they aren't magical. It's still wolfsbane isn't it?"

"Yes, but it's non-magical wolfsbane."

"What, so it just doesn't have any magic at all? Why doesn't it absorb ambient magic from the environment in which it grows?"

"There is no magic. Nothing's magical."

"What, so they're no magic in the whole world? What keeps the lay-lines anchored to this plane, then? How come it doesn't drift apart into the void?"
