    Default Painting yellow

How do you guys paint yellow? I've become so disenfranchised with it lately I've just settled with slapping on Iyanden darksun and calling it a day. It works, but it just lacks the depth I would want.

    Any hints?

Shade up with Golden Yellow. Works for me...

Start with a white base, then build it up with 2-3 thin coats. Then Ink it.

Your on the right track... here is how I do my yellow (see thread "dukes blood angels")
    - iyanden dark sun
    - wash Declan mud or gryphon sepia based on preference
    - redo iyanden dark sun on big areas leaving the ink only on recesses and shaded areas
    - build up to golden yellow on the edges

Should look great and really pop... What exactly are you painting?

Thanks for the advice guys- Originally this was for a Blood Angels assault squad, but then I've moved on and am attempting an Imperial Fists Tactical squad.

The foundation paint Iyanden Darksun is great, but if your model is primed black, you ccan brighten it up a little if you first lay down some Dheneb Stone.

I've used a new paint called "The army painter" colour primers, Daemonic yellow it covers in 1-2 coats.

Army Painter brand primers are good for what they are, but I still prefer a white primer if I'm painting yellow, but I will agree 100% on the earlier posts about the Yellow Foundation Color... Actually all the foundations in general are great tools.
