We're talking about 4chan here, there's as much evidence they did that as Zoe Quinn got a group her supporters on IRC and followed a script.
The problem being at the minimum her sideshow has shown her to be inherently untrustworthy so anything she posts should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Unfortunately we can't ever prove something based off anonymous interactions really can we?

I can't take Kotaku seriously, this is the same group that both condemned and click baited for ad revenue the celeb nudes.

Except she is only inherently untrustworthy if you believe her ex and some of his allies, and Quinn hasn't been the only one keeping an eye on 4chan.

Thefact is 4chan has form, and the abuse stated LONG before there was any hint of her character being unsavoury and there is plenty of corroboration for her abuse and harassment simply because it was done in public. 4chan wants us to believe she made it up, like they want to believe Anita Sarkeesian and everyone else made up their harassment, because we are supposed to believe feminists lie and fake thousands of tweets is more likely than misogyny in gaming being areal thing.

The harassment is real, its there to see. It doesn't mean its organised. This is the internet you know yourself any comments thread on an article about feminism justifys the article...

4Chan doing bad things isn't really new, though. They haven't been funny since the Habbocalypse.

Especially since hatred is spewed in a disorganised manner onto anything else. It's less a coordinated assault and more a hivemind.

Wouldn't it being unorganised be worse? I mean look at that the volume of hatred and abuse levelled at them and think that all those people doing it decided to do so independently and tell me that's not horrifying.

But look at how call of duty or battlefield online is depicted(I don't play these so don't know how true). It's a constant barrage of sexist, homophobic abuse apparently. These games sell millions. It's hardly surprising if thousands of individuals continue to act like arseholes outside games as well.

Yup, and even though there is demonstrably a group organising attacks via 4chan most of it is spontaneous, the 4chan attacks just give it something to coalesce around. It's like a riot with a few people egging things on and forcing confrontations and key points to keep it going.
Every one of the men doing this would have a family with female members, many would have daughters and sisters, it's not just teenage boys on the internet. It's men, ordinary, probably ordinarily friendly and affable men feeling threatened.

It's keyboard warriors becoming joypad warriors. They're safe in their anonimity, and decide to act like the hardest thing on earth. Whilst I find their posturing highly amusing, it has put me off online games entirely. I have neither the time nor the inclination to get good enough at the games to really stand a chance, and could do without a bunch of tosspots who one can only assume (hope?) are going through puberty screeching and yelling.
