I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see new cult troops at all. It would all depend on how well this book sells, and if it sells well, then GW might consider updating the Khorne Berzerkers.

But here's where they messed up. They made a book with no psychic powers that's focused on assault in an edition where psychic powers break the game and assault is the weakest link of the game. They also made it for Chaos Marines, which has some of the most jaded players out there at this point.

The only way I can see this working is if some crazy set of formation rules and that Strength D Bloodthirster make some top-3 tourney-winning combo when allied with a Belakor or something.

Then, maybe three years from now, we'll get a new Khorne Berzerker box.

Blood for the Blood God Rule

For every Unit that is killed enemy or friend you gain a Blood point for it.
You can spend your points once a turn to summon some daemons or give some cool abilities to your guys(fnp is mentioned).
For 8 Points you will get a Bloodthirster for free.

Nearly every CSM unit is metioned except obliterators and psi-guys.
Every khorne daemon is in there.

I get the feeling you might see some Khorne armies that might slip in a cpl extra min squads of cultists just to get to that magical number 8 just a little quicker.

I was thinking the same thing. Those cultists just end up dying anyway. Might as well get something out of it!

Masses of Cultists running across the table to get slaughtered... and then their blood congeals into a Bloodthirster in the middle of the enemy lines.

I think the units would equal about 320 points, though, IIRC, so not really as cost-effective as just buying a Bloodthirster to start with. But it'd be pretty funny to watch.

Actually, they could have done that just by printing those rules in WD when the new kit came out, and they'd be able to sell more Bloodthirsters without a new book.

I think having a lot of CSM units included in the codex is "support for CSM models." Are there new models? No. But since they've got pretty much everything covered model-wise anyway, why would you assume they'd replace existing kits?

Some Bloodthirster translation stuff from Dakka:

There isnt much to translate, not having my codex daemons at hand, seems the 250 pts one is just a*BT, the 275 has the BIG axe of khorne which is*Str*D but has colossal rule which makes it I1, the special rules seems to be exactly the same as the current*BT*for these 2.*

The 300 pts one has besides those rules Hatred enemy characters, also comes with two weapons, Axe of Khorne and Bloodflail (sp?), it has a S5 AP4 flamer with soulblaze (awesome rule) and his flail can be used as a range weapon as well 12" S7 AP2 assault 3, and in close combat is*Str*User Ap2, Nahkampf = Close combat and spezielle is special but dunno what the second word is

I like the fact that he is so simple. Very few tricks or gimmicks. The model just lands and wipes out half a squad of models.

So would anyone bother with paying the extra 50 points for a combination of rewards?
